On the Streets of CQ – Daily life at Huayan Temple
Huayan Temple is a Buddhist temple in Jiulongpo District. It is popular with ancient-style architecture, traditional calligraphy and Buddhas, and include corridors, intricately carved doors, up-turned roofs of glazed tiles, and plaques engraved with ancient classics. This place is magic and is open to the public. For this reason, it is possible to see old local people spending their time there, relaxing and share a glass of tea. For foreigners, the temple is a good place to experience Chinese and local culture.
All the pics were taken by Miss Xie Min, a designer in Chongqing and dear friend of our Institute. In her pics, you can find the quiet of Huayan Temple daily life, the joy of gathering and the respect of Buddhist rites and prayers.
