GGII RESEARCH – New paper presented in Pisa about China Africa relations
The DIRPOLIS Institute (Law, Politics, Development), with the coordination of the researcher Lorenzo Gasbarri and thanks to the support of the Confucius Institute of Pisa, organized, as part of the Africa Connect project, the conference “China and Europe in the African Continent”, on November 30th and December 1st 2023, at the headquarters of Scuola Sant’Anna. The event represented an opportunity to explore new challenges to relations between Africa, China and Europe and to develop a constructive and informed discussion on the different strategies pursued by Europe and China in Africa on fundamental issues such as sustainable development, health and security.
Our Executive Director, Marco Bonaglia , attended the conference and presented the research titled “Strengthening relations between Africa and China: the impact of Chinese Megaprojects, Voices of Experience and Tourism. An analysis through case studies” realized by a research team made with Lorenzo Riccardi and Professor Antonio Frisoli.
The paper analyzed the Africa-China relations through three main directives: the South-South geostrategic framework, the megaprojects realized by Chinese companies, and tourism opportunities.
The event saw the participation of scholars from Europe, Africa and China, and was able to truly connect different worlds and points of views.
